Why are 'patiots so ignorant to believe what the government tells them?

I have to agree with this guy, patriotism is more a kind of pride and devotion to something, jingoism is like patriotism to the extreme. If you dont have any sort of patriotism for where ever you live then maybe you should move, I see no problem with having pride for where you came from and where you are. As for people being ignorant, I find you ignorant for thinking the people that "fight for this country" do it for the government, that may be a reason but people do it for pride in themselves, to protect the people that are here, for revenge of what has happened to us in the past. For instance the war in Iraq, that may have nothing to do with the US but the people are there making a difference for the citizens in that country, helping them, trying to stop the civil war that is over there now so they can have better lives and better opportunities.
