Do standing memorials and tributes (such as 9/11) cause you to get emotional, even years after the events?

My fiancee and I went to Las Vegas, NV recently and we were struck with awe at the display case standing at the foot of the Statue of Liberty replica located at New York, New York Hotel and Casino. Displayed within the case are various mementos that people had spontaneously left in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack, including shirts that were stained with the blood of those injured or killed in these attacks. Would you, even after all of these years, be able to stand there and not shed a tear for those who lost their life on that tragic day?
